what advice would you give someone struggling with their sexuality?
From personal experience, I can relate to this situation. I can recall on several occasions in grade school being asked if I was gay. I would immediately respond "No", without any hesitation...Only to later question myself, & doubt my sexuality. I had always known that I was different from most other young boys my age, but I never knew why. There were even moments where I'd look at other guys and try to imitate their actions. In middle school, I began entering relationships with cute girls, only to show them off to my male friends. But as time progressed, so did my curiosity in trying to understand my difference. I couldn't understand why I didn't relate to most other guys. Eventually, (somewhere between middle & high school) I started looking at dudes, having intimate desires. I kept this feeling inside of me & never shared it with anyone up until the 9th grade. That’s when I decided to feed my curiosity. I started talking to other young men my age over MySpace. I even went as far as exchanging numbers to the few that I was strongly attracted to. Night after night, we conversed over the phone for hours at a time. Fast-forward two years later, I was allowing another dude to give me head. Upon my senior year, my sexuality was still under scrutiny by my peers. Only now, I didn't give a damn. I didn't care how others viewed me...& I wasn't gonna continue to play, fake, or LIE as if I was attracted to girls any longer. When asked if I was gay or interested in other guys, (Depending upon who was asking & if they asked respectfully); I’d answer yes.
I say this, to relay this message:
Usually, if someone is struggling with their sexuality, then they’re already finding themselves interested in others of their same sex. *Not necessarily to say that EVERYONE that is straddling the fence or is unsure of his or her sexuality is gay/bisexual. I say this in attempt to help you identify what is causing you to question your sexual preference.
So, as advice is concerned...I have one question?
